Help
What can wooplayer play?
Most audio and video files: MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV, MP4, MKV and many more, including films with several audio tracks. It plays files on your device; it doesn't stream from Spotify, YouTube or other services.
Where do the lyrics come from?
Paste them from any website, open a file (.lrc, .srt, .txt or Word), or search for them in the app. If they aren't timed, wooplayer listens to the song and times every line for you.
And subtitles for videos?
wooplayer reads subtitle files next to the video and subtitles inside it, and can search for subtitles online.
Which languages does it work with?
Any language you can find lyrics or subtitles in, translated into any other. It knows where words begin and end in Thai, Chinese and Japanese. Dictionaries for English and Chinese are built in, with more to come.
Does it cost anything?
No. The app is free and comes with free AI every day. Later you'll be able to buy more AI if you need it.
Are my songs uploaded?
No. Your files stay on your device. Text you ask to translate or explain goes to wooplayer's AI service and isn't stored. To time lyrics, wooplayer sends a small, low-quality copy of the sound, which is used once and never kept. On a Mac with Whisper installed, timing happens on the Mac itself.
Which devices?
Mac (macOS 12 or later) and Android phones and tablets (Android 7 or later). iPhone and iPad are planned.
How do I get it?
wooplayer is in a private beta. Join the list on the download page and we'll send you an invitation.
